Let’s Talk: Memorable Moments from the 2024 SF Decorator Showcase
The Decorator Showcase has quickly become my favorite indulgence. As an urban developer, I understand that a part of what allows neighborhoods to thrive is the care and maintenance that goes into preserving the communal streetscape. From beautiful stone retaining walls to decoratively manicured hedges, just walking through the street of Billionaire's Row for this year's showcase feels excitingly expensive.
Russell Martinelli of Martinelli Design did a great job of bringing vibrance to the exterior of the 1899 Dutch Colonial Revival mansion. Tineke Triggs Interiors returned this year to create an aesthetically inviting sitting room filled with many tactile surfaces and geometric shapes from floor to ceiling.
Amidst the buzz of everyone trying to absorb the grandeur of this 10 bedroom, 6.5 bath, 11,155 sf estate, one room stood out as a retreat. AubreyMaxwell's passion for design, art, customization, and collaboration with local artisans was on full display. The patchwork stitched bedspread, blown glass table lamps, and the one-of-a-kind crafted stereo cabinet playing timeless vinyl grooves were all testament to the local talent that made their room a true escape.
I have to highlight the craftsmanship that made my heart smile.
The detail and artistry that went into bringing Kristen Peña's vision to life for the Jewel Box Kitchen was a beautiful sight.
Forma Construction did what few are able to do when it comes to precision. The custom-cut stenciling of the marble backsplash to match the pattern of the range hood so that they blend harmoniously is a chef's kiss to work quality and a talented team!
Perez Construction (PC) was also in their element and put their best foot forward. The presentation of the handcrafted Italian tiles glistening amongst the newly installed barrel and groin ceiling radiates relaxation in the Marsh & Clark-designed wet room. The new grand skylight in the family kitchen was a central example of the skill and partnership with Chantal Lamberto Interior Design. PC showcased their ability to preserve the essence of architectural history while bringing to life plans to reimagine the functionality of a space.
I can't get into all the MOMENTS. There were too many. Breathtaking views from the primary suite amongst Sindhu Peruri's romantic, curved furnishings. Lush colors and textures in Jonathan De La Cruz's Observatory. Wool herringbone carpet in the Lark+Palm guest suite.
Kudos to the entire Showcase team and the artisans behind these creations, who poured their hearts into this work. Your efforts are a testament to the transformative impact of design and craftsmanship. Leaving this event, one can't help but feel inspired, eager to champion and admire the beauty that has been brought into our lives.
